WHY?

Have you ever googled your own name? You will be surprised in some cases how easy it is to get personal information over the World Wide Web. And what's even more alarming, millions of people have their details free to view by anyone on their own personal profiles.

MySpace is the largest social network on the net! Unfortunately this leaves lots of room for harassment, abuse and in some cases even stalking.

Myspace allows you create your own little network of friends BUT you need to be careful how you use this if you want to keep safe. If you stick to these simple rules with your friends you should be ok.

1. Friend Requests.

Before you go ahead and "Allow" friend requests, if you don't..

2. Know Your Friends.

If you only add/allow friends that you already know to be part of your own private.

3. Personal Information.

Is it really necessary to show your first name, last name and location? This can make it easy for any potential predator to.

4. Forums.

Anything you post on a forum is available for anyone to view in.

5. Photos.

Before you post a photo think about who is going to see it and if you will regret it being.

You can meet millions of people out there on the net but you have to think and be safe about it!
