Muscle Growth With Three Nutrients by John H Markus

Are you working out, and not seeing the results you want to see? First off, you really have to see a picture of what you want to look like in your mind. I mean, really see it. Then let your brain and body have you do the things to get you there. There are three nutrients, which your body produces, that increase lean body mass or muscle growth. The question is, Do we need more of them than the body produces? Let's look at this situation.

There are 20 non-essential amino acids in our body, which contribute to muscle production. Your body produces these naturally. Glutamine is one of these. Sixty Percent of glutamine is found in skeletal muscle. Glutamine is a nitrogen donor, it creates a positive nitrogen balance. A positive nitrogen balance is needed for muscle growth. Glutamine increases hydration in muscle cells. this is important , because muscle tissue is about sixty percent water. With intense training, glutamine is rapidly released and depleted. Overtraining will deplete gluatmine store in the body, and actually cause less muscle gains than a less intense workout. So, during intense workouts glutamine replacement is suggested.

Now we will discuss ,what is probably the most popular supplement in the last 10 years, creatine. Creatine is produced naturally in the body, combining three amino acids. Ninety five percent of creatine is stored in skeletal muscle. As with glutamine, it absorbs water into muscle tissue. The muscle enlarges from water saturation. Taking this gives an excellent pump after a good workout.

Studies in the United States and Europe have shown long term, lean, body mass with creatine supplementation. Taking it makes your muscles larger and stronger. This gives you the ability to train harder and with more intensity for better results.

Another nutrient that was discovered about ten years ago for muscle gains is nitric oxide. Though it was not as popular as creatine, over the last few years, it's popularity has grown tremendously. The body, also, produces nitric oxide. Nitric oxide acts differently than the first two nutrients we discussed. Nitric oxide relaxes and dilates the blood vessels. This allows for increaed blood flow. With the increased blood flow, nutrients ( amino acids) are made more available to muscular tissue. Amino acids are he building blocks of muscle. The nitric oxide, produce in your body, is not enough for intense exercise. Taking a nitric oxide supplement is a good idea if you are training hard. The effects of nitric oxide go beyond the workout time. Hemodilation, with it is maximized 24 hours a day.

An added effect with using nitric oxide is sexual. It increases blood flow throughout the body. It helps lower blood pressure. And circulation to the genital areas of male and female users is increased. Males have better blood flow to the penis ( which is what Viagra does ). Females have more sensitivity, and have even reported clitoral enlargement.

Glutamine, creatine, and nitric oxide are valuable tools in gaining lean muscle mass.
