Sweating is a normal bodily function. It helps to cool the body. Sweating mostly occur on the feet, under-arms and palms. Sweating can be divided in two categories, normal and abnormal sweating. Normal sweating is caused by two major things. These are heat and psychological factors. It is expected that you will sweat if you are dressed in warm attire, the weather is humid, if you exercise or take hot beverages. This explains why former alcohol and narcotics abusers always appear to be sweating. There are some medical states which are known to lead to sweating. They are cancer, menopause, carcinoid syndrome, acromagaly and hyperthyroidism. You are advise to see a physician if a close relative or you is suffering from hyperhidrosis. You could be afflicted with a severe disease that might be making you sweat abnormally. Sweating could also caused by obesity.
It is not possible to stop the body from releasing sweat. Nonetheless, there is the possibility that you can effectively handle it. If you sweat normally, you can simply use an anti-perspirant. If the sweating is abnormal, you may choose Botox injections or use such medications as anticholinergics.
