Dining at Disneyland

There are so many dining options at Disneyland, it’s hard to decide which one will work best for your experience. This guide will highlight some of the best Disneyland food offered, and will help you discover which restaurant will make you have the most magical day.

Café Orleans serves tasty dishes in a nice sit-down atmosphere overlooking the rivers of America. Try a delectable sandwich, like the famous Monte Crisco sandwich, or go for a fancier dessert. Café Orleans also serves entrée crepes, which are a fun and unique way to eat a meal. Enjoy American and Cajun foods while dining just like you’re in New Orleans! The boats and the rivers combined with the atmosphere make it feel like you’re across the U.S. sitting down for a meal.

Disney’s Ariel’s Grotto is another great place for lunch. Disney’s Ariel herself comes dressed in her Ariel costume to visit each table! This is a moment you’ll want to capture and savor forever. Let your daughter get in her Ariel dress up, that way you can take a picture of her in her Ariel costume with the beloved mermaid. Other royalty comes to visit as well, like Jasmine, Belle, and Sleeping Beauty, to name a few. It’s recommended you make a reservation to visit the Grotto, since this a nicer and more popular restaurant. It is a great place to utilize those Ariel dress ups!

Need a place to take a picky toddler? Try Pluto’s Dog House, which serves hot dogs and underneath colorful umbrellas. Or Red Rockett’s Pizza Parlor, which serves large pizza slices and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Both offer kid-friendly meals and kid-friendly venues.

Get some Southern Barbeque at the Big Thunder Ranch Barbeque. Sit down for an all-you-can-eat buffet of barbeque ribs, chicken, beans, coleslaw, and cornbread. They also serve vegetable and tofu skewers as well. This restaurant is located in Frontierland, and serves a down-home feel along with great food. There’s a good variety offered, and with the all-you-can-eat food, it is perfect for those hungry children!

Have a star-lit dinner at any time of the day by visiting the Blue Bayou. Riders of the Pirates of the Caribbean will recall drifting by a fine restaurant on their boat ride, and that restaurant is the Blue Bayou. Reservations are recommended for this restaurant, but the atmosphere is well worth the extra effort. The nighttime ambiance gives the Blue Bayou a romantic edge, and the fine dining food completes the atmosphere. There are kids menus available as well. Watch the Pirates passengers drift by, and enjoy the Louisiana inspire cuisine of fish and beef entrees, as well as Cajun classics and specialty desserts.

Other great restaurants include the Carnation Café, Village Haus Restaurant, and River Belle Terrace. However you decide where to eat, make sure you take the time to pick a place that you and your family and friends will enjoy. Dining should add to experience, and make the memories more magical, rather than be a hassle or a headache. Make reservations if possible, so that you don’t have to wait for seating and so the eating experience can run smoothly. Bon appétit!
