1. Indian Accent
A fusion of local foods with contemporary International cuisine is what this restaurant is famous for. The food at Indian accent housed in the Manor is Chef Manish Mehrotra's modern take on Indian cuisine. The pick of the day: A stuffing of the North Indian specialty 'galawat lamb kebab' with foie gras that's served with strawberry and green chilli chutney for taste. The twist of the day: Delhi's famous butter chicken modified with peanut butter and garnished with roasted peanuts.
2. Bukhara
Housed in the ITC Maurya Hotel, this legendary hotel defies all the rules of fine dining. Be prepared to get your hands dirty as you tuck into mouth-watering kebabs and other delicacies of marinated meats cooked in a tandoor. The menu which has seen little change since its opening in 1977 still attracts people from all over the world who have to make do without cutlery and have aprons for napkins.
3. Dakshin
A delectable restaurant in the Sheraton offers up the best in South Indian cuisine. Get a taste of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu when you dine here. If you thought all South Indian cuisine was solely vegetarian Dakshin proves you wrong as they serve up a traditional mix of idlis and dosas with tasteful non-vegetarian dishes like deep-fried prawns, pan-fried sole and even lamb. Each dish is unique, made from ingredients and spices that are native to their home regions.
4. Punjabi By Nature
This eponymous restaurant has been growing in popularity all around Delhi. Everything about it is Punjabi right from the food down to its waiters clad in traditional Punjabi attire. A particular favourite is the 'Raan-e-Punjab' or lamb's leg slowly-roasted in a tandoor. Most famous however are its golgappas flavoured with vodka. Punjabi By Nature makes for excellent dining with an inviting atmosphere and elegant ambience.
5. Moti Mahal
Moti Mahal in Daryaganj is one of the oldest and best restaurants in Delhi. Operating shortly after India's Independence in 1947, it lays claim to having introduced the recipes of tandoori chicken, butter chicken and burra kebabs. It's a great place to sample North Indian delicacies.
Delhi has an awesome choice of places to it. You can enjoy of any variety of the best Indian dishes in pleasant ambience. In my opinion Delhi is the best city in terms of quality of food in India. Enjoy your life and eat well.
