Why is it that everyone that is diagnosed with the red rings of death go wild? I know at least 3 people that came to my hysterical that their favorite and most prized possession has only 24 hours to live. Now I actually understand that it is very hard to let your xbox go, given the reason you should fix it! I don't mean send it to the big bad company either. I mean get an xbox error 74 fix today!
Little Charles asked me one day "Hey Will, am I every going to see my xbox alive again?" With confidence I replied "Yes absolutely!"
The thing that Charles did not know was that his xbox has an overheating problem. His favorite console was heating up to the point where the gpu on the motherboard was not working properly. The gpu's soldering was wearing due to the heat.
We can not prevent this problem right now because it already happened, but we can fix it and prevent it permanently. Ask yourself what you have done, the second you found your console had the evil red rings.
Did you want to throw it out, send it away or sell it?

Throwing it out meant he was going to spend another $400 on a new or or find a used one ready to mess up.
Sending it away would aslo cost him $150 unless he had the warranty If the had the warranty, he would have had to ship it himself hoping not to mess anything up
Also he would have to wait up to 2 months to receive it back

Now I don't know about you, but I cannot wait 2 months to play xbox live and neither could Charles. Another thing about sending it away is that they will not let you know how to prevent it or even tell you what was wrong.
Charles fixed his problem himself in under 2 hours with household tools. So what is stopping you? Now he buys "broken xboxes," fixes them and sells them for profit.
