Volleyball is a game that everyone can enjoy whether they are young or old. Volleyball is a game that can be played professionally or as a recreation game. The object of the game is score a point by hitting the ball over the net and making sure that the ball hits the ground inside of the boundary line on your opponent team side. Each team should have six players that play a different volleyball position.
The setter is one of the volleyball positions. It is considered to be important because this position determine the direction of the ball with each serve to the opponent team. If you play the setter position, you must be able to able multitask. You must be able to play the front and back rows of the court in addition to serve and block the ball against the other team. In order for a person to play this position well, they should work on their jump set, which will allow them to jump and get to the ball faster. Also they should make sure they are able to save the ball from all angles by keeping their eye on the ball and remain in a neutral position not too high or low.
The opposite hitter, which is also an important position, is another one of the volleyball positions. This position is responsible for scoring most of the points in the game. Both the front and back rows are played by this position. They must be skilled in blocking and defense in order to be a good opposite hitter. People in this position should be tall, fast on their feet, and have very good eye and hand coordination.
Another volleyball position is called the libero. It is considered to be a new position to volleyball because it was created in 1998. This position is more restricted than the other volleyball positions. This player only plays the back row. In some of the United State leagues, this position can’t serve the ball. They must also wear a different color from the rest of the team members. In order to play this position well, a person should have good skills in blocking and defense. This position can be played by the shorter members on the team.
In volleyball, each position has its own purpose in creating a great team. Some of the other volleyball positions are outside hitter, middle blocker, and right side hitter. By working together as a team, your position can help the team become one of the best.
