In this article I will share some simple tips to help idiot proof your business. Regardless of whether you work with clients, customers, patients or employees or bosses, you need powerful communication skills.
Part of powerful communication skills is strong intent and clear understanding of who you are and what you want and what the other people want. I advise my clients to follow a win/win strategy whenever possible because it has worked wonders for me and those who follow my advice. So whether you are someone who comes to me for stress management, relaxation or to change an unwanted habit, I help you to communicate more clearly.
Sometimes this communication happens between different parts of your mind and body and in the business world communication usually occurs between people. Some of this communication happens between the same company and other times you will need effective skills to get your message across to someone in another company. This all boils down to powerful communication skills and strong intent. No deals get made simply by flapping your lips. You need to know what you want out of the deal and what the other parties are looking to get. Any negotiation or deals involve everyone wanting to get the best for themselves or their side and in order to do this you need to know specifically what it is you want and what you are willing to do to achieve your goals.
Again, this comes down to knowing yourself and having a strong intent to get your outcome.
Hypnosis and nlp studies have shown that much of our communication is not only verbal. Much of the message that people read comes from your body language and your vocal tonality and a smaller percentage actually comes from the words themselves.
How can you use this? Consider that you can spend time writing up a proposal or practicing what you are going to say. With this knowledge you can now spend at least as much time on your overall state of mind and body. When your mind and body are working together as a team you can achieve your goals so much more easily and effectively. So with your body language and breathing more relaxed and showing more confidence and your voice strong and you clearly speaking the words that are letting your message come out loud and clear, you will get more of what you want.
Without strong intent, your perfect words will fall short. With only strong intent and no idea what you actually want and no clear words to communicate you may come across as intense yet cloudy.
Without strong presence and confidence you may look very uncomfortable and weak and so your
perfect words may come out as a whisper. So who are you and who do you want to project yourself as being?
Do you want to just be loud and confused as if just shouting to intimidate others? I do not think that this will not get you want you want.
Do you wish to be clear and concise yet without a backbone and without the strength to back up your words? This will also fall short of your goals and your self image.
So what if you could start to practice being more calm under pressure and breathing more deeply and slowly and realizing the benefits to this state of zen like calm. What is stopping you from practicing your body language so that you come across as confident and self assured and full of knowledge.
Start right now to learn to improve your vocal tonality so that you speak clearly and pace your listeners so that they not only hear your words they actually understand your message.
With this zen like calm and confidence showing in your breathing, body language, vocal tonality and your clear message with strong intent, you will very likely idiot proof your business communications. Success takes effort and now you have more of an idea of where to focus on improving.
