The Value of Scheduling Posts

Have you ever gone through a panic when it comes to getting your latest blog out on time. You know your audience is waiting for your next explanation or how to article. What will you have to give up in order to get those words out and out in time. It is so frustrating to not have blogging under control.
The process can be totally frustrating and I have also hit the roadblock from time to time.
Are you aware that you can simply schedule your posts using simple tactics such as the WordPress Schedule button? That makes it much easier. Knowing this you will be able to write your posts ahead of the curve and simply schedule them. Sounds easy...
Here are some ideas that make the whole process even easier so that you can not worry about which date and when for your current scheduled posts:
  • Install the Editorial Calendar plugin. Click on the Add New Plugin button and locate the Editorial Calendar. I suggest you read about the plugin before installing it. As a reminder, you should always know if the plugin is compatible with your theme or to find any issues that may cause problems. If you deem it all clear, install it.
  • Activate the plugin. It does not take much to activate it and you should check your plugin list to make sure it is now live.
  • Click on the Posts menu and select Calendar. The Calendar option should appear at the end of the list in the Posts menu.
  • Choose the date where you want you post to be scheduled and click on the New Post title in the date. An editorial window will appear on your screen.
  • Start entering your blog post. Enter your Catchy title, and then put in the content.
  • Change the time for the post as you wish it to be scheduled.
  • Change the status of the post from Draft to Scheduled.
  • Save the changes.

  • Now you may be thinking that this is great but you would prefer to work within the WordPress editor. I use this part just to schedule and then I go to the editor to embellish my text and add images. Here is where you can now get to the regular editor right from the Editorial Calendar. All you need to do is hover over the title in the calendar and click on the Edit button. This will bring up the regular editor so that you can finish off your article.
    Because scheduling takes time and knowing when your articles are being published, it is much easier to simply start with the calendar and fill in the gaps on the schedule, rather than trying to figure out when you scheduled items.
    The Editorial Calendar will also allow you to drag your posts from date to date if you find the need to move an item as something really important comes up and you would rather write about a new topic.
    It all seems to simple, and it is. The biggest challenge? Taking the time to write. This way you can write whenever and where ever, you just schedule it in the best slot.
