Yummy Baby Shower Punch Recipes

After watching the mother-to-be open her baby shower presents, eating cake and drinking baby shower punch is everyone's favorite part of the entire baby shower. This is the happiest, noisiest part of any baby shower, when guests sit down, giggle, and gossip together. Selecting the right baby shower punch will enhance the food and the conversation.

Rainbow Punch

Rainbow punch is simple but effective. Combine one gallon of yummy, icy rainbow sherbet with 8 liters of your favorite carbonated lemon-lime soft drink. Break off chunks of ice cream with your ice cream scoop, and they will float in the party punch glasses.

Use the low-cal version of the soda, because there are plenty of calories in the sherbet. This recipe makes a colorful punch with a nice combination of sweetness and a tang of lemon lime.

Strawberry Ice Cream Punch

Another popular baby shower punch that uses ice cream is strawberry ice cream punch. Combine a large tub of softened vanilla ice cream with 2 liters of strawberry soda and one package of thawed frozen, crushed strawberries, with juice included.

This punch is a pleasing pink color, so it works well for a shower where the mother-to-be is expecting a girl.

Fun Fruit Punch

This recipe makes a fun, sweet fruit punch. Mix 2 cups of sugar with 2 quarts of water and packages of cherry or strawberry Kool-Aid. Just before you are about to serve the punch, add one quart of ginger ale and one 48 ounce can of pineapple juice. Stir all the ingredients together and serve the punch ice cold in punch glasses.

Classic Mimosas

Mimosas make an excellent baby shower punch for a baby shower brunch. The mother-to-be can't drink alcohol, so she and the other guests who don't drink alcohol can drink straight orange juice. Other guests can make mimosas by adding a splash of champagne to orange juice.

Whatever baby shower punch you prepare, use the highest quality ingredients you can afford, and serve the punch icy cold, dipping the punch from a punch bowl with a ladle into punch glasses. If you don't have a punch bowl set and don't know anyone else that has one, you can usually rent a set from a party rental supply store.

Serving cold punch is a must, and baby shower punch should never be served on the rocks, over ice cubes or on crushed ice. While the mother-to-be should not consume alcohol, it is perfectly acceptable for baby shower guests to add a splash of vodka or rum to their punch.
