Getting to know more about Blu Ray Recorder

If you are one of the countless "techno geeks", you probably know that lots and lots of new and innovative products are constantly release each year. One of the latest products in the data storage and digital media technology is "Blu Ray". This latest innovation in data storage and digital media technology is designed and developed by various manufacturers of media and electronic technologies.

What differentiates the Blu Ray technology from other types of data storage and digital media products is its storage capacity and speed of data transfer. Just imagine, with the Blu Ray, you can store up to 50 gigabytes data or up to 9 hours of High Definition video.

The first ever Blu Ray recorder that was released for consumer use was manufactured by "Sony". Unlike other platforms, the Blu Ray recorder uses the Blu Ray technology to store digital data on Blu Ray discs. Blu Ray recorders use blue lasers to store data on Blu Ray discs. These blue colored lasers have much shorter wavelengths than the ones used by other platforms (of which are red colored lasers), therefore the blue colored beams are much finer and are able to write data on a much smaller area of the surface of the Blu Ray disc.

The Blu Ray recorders are manufactured by a group of companies that have established themselves as the leaders in consumer electronics. They are collectively known as the "Blu Ray Disc Association". There are lots of Blu Ray recorders available in the market these days that are manufactured by AMEX, Hitachi, JVC, LG, Philips, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Yamaha and Zenith. The Blu Ray recorders of the mentioned companies can store high definition imagery and digital data on rewritable Blu Ray discs.

All Blu Ray recorders that are available in the market today not only records Blu Ray media, they can also support other types of formats used by various platforms such as DVD, DVD-read/write, DVD-record, CD, CD-record and CD-read/write.

Although there are several Blu Ray recorders available in the market these days, the price of these devices are somewhat high. It would take quite some time before the manufacturers of Blu Ray recorders will release mainstream solutions that are not as expensive as it is today. Hopefully, the competition in the industry of Blu Ray recorders will bring about a reasonable priced unit. As of now, have yet to be within the financial reach of the average consumer.
