Boxing Gloves

Boxing Gloves are great for married couples. During the sport of boxing the fighters wear gloves on their hands so as to help cushion the impact. During boxing these gloves help to prevent and protect the boxers from sustaining injuries like fractures and contusions which can occur due to the forceful blows they give.

Earlier boxers were not using any gloves but instead were using only their bare knuckles to give blows to the opponents. It was Jack Broughton who was thought to have brought into force a kind of boxing glove which was known as a muffler.

There are a number of boxing gloves in the market which come in a variety of sizes, materials and even colors. It is the use of leather gloves which are h8ighly recommended during training as they will tend to last longer while training even if they are more expensive. This is especially so when the boxers have to punch a heavy bag, focus pads and even during sparring.

In the case of professional boxing there are laces which help fasten the gloves so as to giver the boxer's hand a snug fit while boxing. In recent times Velcro wrist wraps are being used as they allow the boxer to put on and remove the glove more easily while the laced varieties will need assistance from another person to help tie and untie the laces.

The boxer also must wear the right size glove to fit his hand. Boxing gloves weigh around 10 to 20ounces for adults while the children's gloves weigh between 4 to 8 ounces.

What must be noted is that the heavier the glove the better protection it gives and that's why beginners are advised to use gloves which weigh around 12 to 16 ounces. For sparring the standard gloves are 16ounces while professional fighters wear gloves which weigh 10ounces.
