Rosemary, A Natural Hair Loss Product

Whenever you have unexplained hair loss, you should talk to your doctor about it. Sudden hair loss (where the hair comes out in clumps) can be a sign of severe but treatable medical conditions that will not get better by themselves. But if you are experiencing male pattern baldness (alopecia), whether you are man or woman, you might be helped with a hair loss product containing rosemary essential oil.

Wake Up, Sleepy Hairs

The human hair follicle is controlled in part by hormones, as well as your genes. The follicle goes through several stages of growth, including a resting phase. Often with alopecia, hormones can tell the follicles to keep on resting when they should be up and growing. Hair loss products like Minoxidil and copper peptides help tell the follicles to wake up. Essential oil of rosemary is also used as a hair loss product to wake the hairs up and stimulate growth.

Aromatherapy Solutions

There are many commercially available shampoos and conditioners that claim to have rosemary essential oil in them. However, they don't contain enough to make an effective hair loss product. The only way to get the most of rosemary essential oil is to make your own hair loss product. This doesn't involve breaking out your high school chemistry set or your daughter's Bake-Easy oven, so don't worry.

All you need is rosemary essential oil (quite a bit), olive oil and a bottle to put the resulting mixture in. Put in your hair loss product bottle equal parts rosemary oil and olive oil. Some people prefer coconut oil to olive oil, but olive oil is a lot less expensive. Put a lid on, and then give it a shake. Massage a coated hand into your scalp once a day. If nothing else, your head will smell really nice and the bare skin should not dry out and cause itching.

What others like to do is actually add rosemary essential oil with an unscented baby shampoo or plain cream shampoo and then use that mix on what's left of their hair. You only need one part rosemary oil per ten parts shampoo, in this case. Ask your pharmacist to help you find a plain unscented shampoo if you have trouble fining one.

Rosemary is said to especially help the regrowth of hair in brunettes. If you have dark thinning hair, try adding rosemary essential oil to your final rinse water to help stimulate more hair growth. In this case, blondes don't have more fun.
