You Can Learn Spanish In Cuba As Long As You Are From Cuba

Of all the places you could decide to travel to learn Spanish probably the worst thing you can decide to do it so learn Spanish in Cuba especially if you are an American. Americans have not been welcome in Cuba almost since the day Fidel Castro seized power in 1959 and if you really want to learn Spanish in Cuba then you had better be dedicated to the idea because not only will there be a lot of paperwork involved but there will probably be some questions from the American government as to why you want to learn Spanish in Cuba.

Cuba itself may turn you down as many Americans are not welcome in Cuba as long as Castro is in power. Even with Castro seemingly on his deathbed and his brother currently in charge of the country it is still a common thing for the Cuban government to hate Americans. The Cuban government once expelled a BBC reporter from the country because the government claimed it is in the middle of an undeclared war with America and the British media are American spies. So hopefully by now you are starting to catch on that trying to learn Spanish in Cuba is about as safe as flying an American flag in Iran right about now. It just is not a good idea and the conditions in Cuba continue to get worse.

Fidel Castro assumed complete power of Cuba in 1959 and turned the little island nation into a communist dictatorship with him in charge. Ever since then there have been numerous rumored attempts on his life by people hired by the United States government and one failed attempt at invading Cuba called the Bay of Pigs. Castro has been an outspoken enemy of the United States and any democratic nation or ally of the United States and Castro even allowed the Soviet Union to put nuclear missiles on Cuba in 1962 that caused the Cuban Missile Crisis which was nearly the beginning of a nuclear war. Needless to say that if you are an American it is not a good idea to plan to learn Spanish in Cuba and if you are part of any democratic country it is not a good idea to try to learn Spanish in Cuba.

Once They Check In They Don't Leave

Cuba has a horrible human rights record with disappearances and kidnappings happening everyday especially of visiting students and tourists. So you would have that to contend with if you wanted to learn Spanish in Cuba which means you might go to Cuba but there is a chance you will not be coming back. After all of this do you still feel the need to learn Spanish in Cuba? Even when his brother took over in 2006 due to Fidel Castro's failing health they still maintain a very anti-American stance in Cuba that is a threat to any American, or American ally, that visits.

Some things just are not worth the risk and the desire to learn Spanish in Cuba is one of those things. Maybe you should just sign up for classes at your local community college instead.
