Types Of Power Tool Accessories
Getting your power tools home is only part of the fun of home improvement. You also need power tool accessories. These can be for helping your home improvement projects in general, or for your particular tool. Power tool accessories come in type of tool (electric drill, sander, whatever) or they can be specifically made for a particular brand type of power tool (Bosch, Black and Decker, whatever).
For Your Workshop In General
Before you do any home improvements, whether in your workshop or in various parts in and out of your house, you should have some power tool accessories for safety and for easier cleanup. Safety accessories include a tool belt, eye protection and a filter mask, if necessary. You should also have a strait edge and a permanent marker to help you measure twice and cut once. You should also have large drop cloths or old sheets to help pick up the miss or cover any furniture as you are working.
Stationary
If you need power tool accessories for stationary tools, then you have a lot to choose from. These accessories include belts for sanders, extension cords, plug cutters, auxiliary drums and table attachments to give you more workspace. Clamps make great stationary power tool accessories for tricky or heavy pieces of lumber.
Drills
There are more accessories and kits for drills than any other kind of tool. When you look for power tool accessories for any other kind of tool, you will have to wade through a lot of drill accessories before finding what you need. Drills often have the virtue of having all kinds of neat interchangeable drill heads, screwdrivers and bolt fitters that can be use for many kinds of drills.
If your drill is cordless, then you would need batteries and a battery charger. There are also many accessory kits which feature tiny saws, tile cutters and sanders so you can use the power of the drill to do just about any home repair job you can think of. I've even seen attachments where you can use your drill as a glue gun, but I have never met anyone who has actually used it.
Saws
There are many kinds of portable saws as well as stationary ones. Be sure you know which type of saw the power tool accessory is for before you bring it home. Even the size of the accessory is not exactly a dead giveaway. Some very small blades, gauges and cross cut guides can be for stationary saws.
