Detroit school of performing arts: realizing your dreams

Currently known as The Detroit School of Arts, Detroit school of performing arts is considered a high quality high school established in Detroit, state of Michigan.

The academy of arts and performance offers major courses in the fields of visual arts, visual communications, vocal, dance, journalism, speech and instrumental. To belong to the considered blue ribbon institution in Michigan, the Detroit school of performing arts accepts students who undergo the required audition among the major fields mentioned.

Aaliyah - born Aaliyah Dana Haughton, she was a famous American singer, model, actress and dancer. She became popular with her hit records during the mid of 1990. She belonged to the production and songwriting team of Timbaland and Missy Elliot.

Aaliyah was raised in Michigan, particularly in Detroit where Detroit school of performing arts was established. She grew up as a Catholic to Diance Haughton, her Native American, and vocalist mother and to Mintis Hicks, her African American father.

Basically, she started her singing endeavors at the corners of Detroit school of performing arts. Later on, she has been appearing in Star Search television talent show and sang My Funny Valentine, the favorite song of her first mentor and mother.

Teairra Mari - this young and popular American R & B singer climbed the pinnacle through her 2005 hit songs, No Daddy and Make Her Feel Good. Being born and raised in Michigan, she enrolled in Detroit school of performing arts.

She started her career at twelve and recorded songs in the basement of her cousin. Sooner, she drew the interest of Ed K, Big Mike and K.I.S.S. Productions in Michigan that developed her since she was thirteen.

After releasing her album in 2003 of October, Mari has been attending classes at Detroit school of performing arts, and taking up majors in vocal. She has also been performing in several talent showcases in the academy.

On the other hand, Detroit school of performing arts not only sees and sets excellently in academic and arts field. Being in the collaboration of public schools in Detroit, the arts academy ensures a healthy, safe and clean learning environment for its students, making them globally productive.

Additionally, the colors of the school are white and gold. Their present academy principal is Dr. Denise Cotton. The school is particularly located in 123 Seldon Street, Detroit. As with the other performing arts academy in the states of America, the Detroit school of performing arts also conducts series of examinations and auditions when a student wishes to enroll in a particular major course.
