Laser Wrinkle Remover - Does it Work?

As we get older we usually begin to notice unwanted wrinkles on our face and we would be delighted if we could find a way to have them removed. Utilizing laser wrinkle remover treatments to reduce wrinkles is an option that is available. Basically, the laser removes wrinkles from the locations you choose by resurfacing your skin. This procedure also activates your body to produce collagen which decreases the wrinkles. The laser process will usually take about an hour depending on how much work you have asked your doctor to complete.

The typical locations to remove thin facial wrinkles with a laser treatment are the forehead area, the nose, the areas near the eyelids and the mouth. The laser treatments have the effect of diminishing the wrinkles and usually not totally eliminating them. There are basically two types of laser wrinkle remover treatments which are CO2 laser resurfacing and a procedure known as Cool Touch Laser.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing

This particular laser wrinkle remover process works by removing your upper layers of damaged or wrinkled skin at specific levels of penetration with the CO2 laser. During the skin's healing process, new skin cells are created which gives you smoother, tighter skin. The laser is effective in minimizing the visibility of the fine line wrinkles located near your mouth and your eyes. Studies have shown that this procedure for reducing wrinkles causes less problems such a bruises on the skin, bleeding and discomfort after the procedure is completed when compared to the other skin resurfacing procedures.

If your plastic surgeon decides the best option for reducing your wrinkles is a medium resurfacing procedure, the laser is focused on the epidermis and the papillary dermis. For deep resurfacing laser wrinkle remover treatments involving the CO2 laser, the upper levels of what are known as the reticular dermis are removed.

Cool Touch Laser

With the Cool Touch laser wrinkle remover procedure, a laser known as a YAG laser is utilized to activate collagen production in your skin. The laser has the ability to penetrate your skin while not harming the outer skin layers. This laser wrinkle remover procedure is usually recommended for younger people who do not have deep wrinkles that need to be reduced.

Using the Cool Touch Laser has the benefits of not requiring recovery time after the procedure is completed. You don't need to stop your activities after you have had a Cool Touch Laser treatment. However since this treatment is not as forceful as the CO2 laser, usually a few treatments are necessary. It usually takes a couple of months before you notice the reduction in wrinkles. Check with your doctor to find out if laser wrinkle remover treatments might help you in removing undesirable wrinkles.
