Different Types Of Acne
When thinking of acne, most people would envision almost the same thing as though there is only one type of acne out there. While all forms have the same terrible effects on a person, there are several different types of acne and it is important to understand the differences. The reason it is important to understand what makes the different types of acne is because different types may do better with different types of treatment. This means you will spend less in acne products then if you just started buying random products and tried everything.
The most common form of acne problems comes as what is known as acne vulgaris, which is really a combination of several types of acne, or pimples. This is a nice variety of papules, nodules, cysts, blackheads, whiteheads, and pustules. When thinking of whiteheads, it is best to understand that these appear because the pore is blocked and the white stuff is dead skin cells and oils that are coming to the surface. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are blackheads and these form because the pore is blocked but only part way.
When It's Severe
For those who suffer from severe types of acne, there are many psychological side effects that may have to be dealt with. These types of acne are nothing to laugh at as it can leave a person disfigured and give them extreme self-image issues. Acne Conglobata is known as the most severe form of all of the types of acne out there. This is usually seen more in males then in females and is spotted by the large lesions, which are numerous in numbers. Staying active for many years on the chest, back, upper arms, thighs, buttocks, and face, this type is most common in those between the ages of eighteen to thirty.
For those of the female gender, the types of acne that they face are somewhat different usually. In fact the type of acne referred to as Pyoderma Faciale is known to only affect those who are female and between the ages of twenty and forty. Even if a woman has never had troubles with acne before, this type can sneak up when no one is looking at leave large nodules, sores, and pustules on the face. Luckily though, out of all of the types of acne, this one is the one that only last about a year if that. But, within a years time a lot of damage can be done to the skin.
