Applying Serious Skin Care to Your Life

Applying serious skin care to your daily personal care routine is important to retaining a youthful look without surgery. There are many products that can be made at home that can be just as effective as products you buy in the store. Here are a few serious skin care ideas.

Scrubs

Scrubs are very important to a serious skin care routine. A good scrub sloths off dead skin and moisturizes at the same time. These are very simple scrubs that are very easy to make.
Ingredients for Simple Scrub:
Cold-pressed Oil (wheat germ, olive, corn, peanut, or sunflower)
½ cup sugar
First, pour the sugar into a bowl and add about one fourth of a cup of oil. Mix it together, continually adding oil until the mixture is good and damp.
Brown Sugar Scrub
Ingredients for a Brown Sugar and Honey Scrub:
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 Tablespoons white sugar
3 Tablespoons of honey
1/3 Cup Baby Oil
Put the sugars in a small bowl and mix well, then add the honey and the oil. Mix it all together until the mixture looks a little like wet play dough.

Both of these scrubs can be stored in a plastic container in the refrigerator for around two weeks. Be sure not to introduce any bacteria to the scrub, such as by using dirty hands to make it or scoop it out of the container.

The scrubs are very easy to use. After a bath or shower, while the skin is still moist, apply the scrub, using small circles on the skin.

Moisturizing Masks

Retaining moisture is another very important part to serious skin care. A great way to do this is by applying moisturizing masks on a regular basis. Here is a simple one that employs nature's moisture retainers that can be found in most households.

Ingredients for Honey Avocado Mask
1 ripe avocado
3 tablespoons of honey
1/3 cup oatmeal

First, put the oatmeal in a food processor and blend it until it is a fine powder. Next, pit, peel, and cut up the avocado. After removing the pit, add the sliced up avocado to the oat powder and blend it well. Last, add the honey and blend the mixture together. If you find that the mixture is a little too thick, simply add water and blend until the mixture is the consistence of your liking.

Apply the mask over the entirety of the face, avoiding the eye area. Let it sit for about thirty minutes then wash off with warm water and a wash cloth for a serious skin care routine before bed.
