Deciding Which Are Scrapbooking Events
Different people choose to commemorate events in different ways. Some take a few pictures, others offer up a DVD video of the event, while others prefer to collect as much about the event as possible and scrapbook it. The idea of scrapbooking events can be a an exciting hobby not unlike a scavenger hunt. When you are scrapbooking events there are the obvious things like newspaper clippings and photographs but, depending on the event, there is so much more you could do when you are scrapbooking events.
Don't limit yourself to just pictures and newspaper articles when you are scrapbooking events because you never know if that program from the play you saw could one day become quite valuable. It is hard to say if grass clippings collected from a spot where an historic event will be of any value in the future but it does add another dimension to your collection when you are scrapbooking events with pieces of the event itself.
There are many examples of scrapbooking events that could lend themselves to an eclectic collection or artifacts. Perhaps you are taking a trip to a foreign country and you have decided to collect one small piece from every monument or famous location that you visit. Maybe you are visiting England and you come back with rock fragments from Stonehenge. You never know what the value of something like that could be but, more importantly, taking on parts and pieces of your memories will help you relive them more vividly when you open up your scrapbook to take a look at your memories. Some people use scrapbooking to keep a record of historic events that happen in their lifetime.
When The Wall Came Down
In the 1980's, when the Berlin Wall came down, people were seen chipping off pieces of the wall to take away as a remembrance of the horrible event that divided the people of Germany for so long. It was considered a scrapbooking event by many people and now there are memories safely preserved in many scrapbooks all over the world and as more people decide to share their memories with the world we find ourselves learning more and more about moments in history such as the Berlin Wall.
Many people like to catalog the success of their favorite sports team. Winning the big national championship is definitely a scrapbooking event and many fans collect as much as they can from the event so that they can relive it whenever they want from their scrapbook. Memories are what a scrapbook is made for.
