My own website

Creating my own website was nothing new for me. You see, I have been involved in the Internet since my school days. Nowadays, if he wants to keep in touch with people at all, you have to make a webpage and post regular blogs on it. Blogging, after all, is basically the new small talk. For better or for worse, I was creating my own webpage before I could write a decent sentence. Nonetheless, none of my own websites were particularly technologically sophisticated - something that would get me in trouble eventually.

When I decided on creating my own business website, I thought there would be nothing to it. In theory, I knew it would be more complicated than creating my own website had been in the past. Most of my websites have been pretty simple things - posted content with little or no interaction. Of course, people could post responses to some of my blogs and vote in online polls, but that was about it. It was all pretty straightforward, and it required no programming knowledge or experience at all. Based on this, for some reason, I figured out that I could create a business website without any problem. After all, how difficult could it be?

It turns out that it could get pretty darn difficult! As a matter of fact, making my own website for my business was one of the stupidest things that I have ever tried to do. At first, it seemed easy. I decided that I would start off with the things I knew how to do and then learn the things I didn't know how to do as I got to them. I knew how to design layout, how to make some good content, and how to organize menus. Then I decided to get fancy, and things started to fall apart.

Long before I tried to implement a system where people could order over the Internet, I was already running into trouble. I tried to put in some flash animation as a way to spice up the website. Big mistake! No matter what I did, I could

n't get it to work. It slowed the website down tremendously, didn't show up right on the screen, and caused runtime errors two times out of three. No matter what I did, I couldn't get my own website to run correctly. I finally had to hire a professional to do it - something that I should have done the beginning. After all, I wouldn't have wasted so much time.
