Under Cabinet Toaster Oven Lifted Conveniently Out Of The Way

There are many products that can be cooked in a microwave oven and some that cannot be, and in order to take advantage of the toasting capabilities of a traditional oven, some use a toaster oven for small cooking measures. The problem is, as with many kitchen appliances, they are all competing with a limited amount of counter space and are often put in storage between uses. To overcome this problem and to have it more readily available, an under cabinet toaster oven can be mounted under the kitchen cabinets without taking up valuable space.

There are a few precautions required when mounting an under cabinet toaster oven, as the vented hot air usually escapes at the top of the unit. Toaster ovens designed to be mounted under cabinets will also have a mounting hood that attaches to the cabinet and then the under cabinet toaster oven attaches to the hood. Heat from the unit is vented away from the cabinets, typically made of wood, eliminating the potential for fire.

There have also been hoods developed for use with many traditional styles of toaster ovens, but they may not work with all makes and all models. Turning a counter top unit into an under cabinet toaster oven may not be as easy as fastening it to a universal hood. The hood will have to be designed to hold the weight of the specific unit along with the usual bumping that goes with using one.

Additionally, all under cabinet toaster oven units will need electricity to operate, which means the oven should be mounted as close to an available outlet as possible. It is unsafe to have a cord traveling across the counter top, or on the floor, between the oven and a wall socket. If left too low, someone could trip over the cord, or if left on the counter it could become damaged while the user is performing other cooking tasks.

It is also dangerous to use an extension cord with an under cabinet toaster oven as the power requirements of the oven can cause the cord to overheat and, if it not of a sufficient, has the risk of shorting out and starting a fire. It should also be noted that most of the under cabinet toaster ovens will be hot to the touch when in use and if someone inadvertently bumps it they will probably get burned.
