For French knitting you need wooden cotton reels to set up the gadget on which you are going to knit. Take a wooden cotton reel and paint it. Procedure
The wool emerges from the middle of the reel in the centre of the four pins. You have to wind the wool around each of the four pins, turning the reel as you proceed. From French knitting you generally get a knitted 'rope' which can be made into rugs or into small baskets. But a rug takes a very long time to make. The knitted braid or rope is also referred to as knitting mushrooms.
There is a possibility of making interesting scarves with French knitting. You can make a bunch of strips and sew them together or braid them together. Jewelry is another possibility, by putting beads on the yarn and pulling a bead into the stitch every once in a while.
