Enter the World of Azeroth by Downloading World of WarCraft

Say you lose your World of WarCraft CDs and don't want to run out to pick up a new copy of the game. Especially for broadband users (this might take dial up users weeks), they can download the World of WarCraft game client. Their account information should still have the CD key information saved, so if you haven't bought the retail package of the game (or downloaded it from an online retailer like Direct2Drive), you'll need to do so before being able to play the game.

Trial Version

If you download the World of WarCraft trial version, then you'll also need to input a trial key given out to you by Blizzard which is good for ten days. This way of downloading World of WarCraft, home to nine million other players, is a great way for you to get to begin exploring Azeroth and Outland. Inside, you'll meet fellow questers whom will become your friends over weeks and months of playing as you fight for the Horde or the Alliance, two opposing factions.

All you need to do is download the World of WarCraft game client off the Blizzard site or any other site hosting the game client (greater than 3 Gigabytes, so dial up users beware), install it, and add your user name and password. If you already have an account with Blizzard, you're set to go play the game, and if not, then you'll need to to register and set up billing information. For the trial version, the first ten days are free, and then you'll need to set yourself up to begin paying fifteen dollars a month if you wish to continue questing and raiding in World of WarCraft.

Many people have gotten to experience Azeroth this way by downloading World of WarCraft, and it's a helpful tool if you lose your CDs. Also, you may find that you have to download game files if you haven't logged in in a while, which basically amount to new content that the developers have added or old things that they have edited, so it may take an hour or two to download the new and edited content.
