Pet Rabbit Training: More Than Just A Bounce

Not at all, quite a contrary in fact. Rabbit can clearly understand what you want him or her to do, it is just that they are stubborn and prefer to do their own ways. This can be irritating for anyone who is so engrossed in his or her pet rabbit training. In a minute, all you get are baleful stares, but the next instant, your bunny comes around for cuddles and kisses.

Living with a well-groomed and well-trained pet rabbit is pleasurably adorable. Rabbits are naturally smart and can really be trained easily especially if given the right incentives. It helps to understand what certain things motivate your pet rabbit. Dissimilar to dogs, rabbits are not so particular with pleasing anyone. Therefore, harsh punishments such as yelling at it or spanking it will not make a difference. Such reprimands will not make your rabbit more cooperative. However, rabbits are intelligent and respond to incentives. That is why, with just the right does of incentive, your pet rabbit training will be productive and efficient.

Like any other training programs, time devotion is crucial. To achieve the most desirable outcome, give off at least 30 minutes of your time each day to your pet. An hour or two is even better for pet rabbit training. Does it sounds like asking too much of your time already? It may be, but it sure is all worthy in the end. And besides, you may only be doing this for one or two weeks. As a matter of fact, results can be expected on the very first day of the training.

To get your rabbit to cooperate fully, use some of his favorite treats. Since your pet rabbit training is largely based on incentives, find some treat that provides a wonderful incentive that you think your pet is sure to like. If you have no idea yet what your pet likes most, take the time to figure it out. If you find yourself unsure about some food if safe to be given to your pet, you can always ask a veterinary doctor about it.

As soon as you have the needed incentives, get your pet to position and ready for training. Be sure to provide a convenient and conducive training ground for your pet rabbit. Supply him with the proper and safe to use equipments if needed. Like if you want to teach him to get inside his crate at nighttime, do it during the appropriate time and ensure you have his crate positioned where it is supposed to be.

And again, do not forget the treat. Give your pet a reward as soon as he completes a task or comply accordingly. Significantly, it helps to clearly impart why you are giving him a treat. Provide treats until your pet responds properly to your commands every time. If you will introduce another skill, never forget the rewards.
