With so much emphasis on "going green" and being aware of the dangers of over polluting and taking care of the earth, there has been a surge in interest in organic health food and just what it really is.

Organic health food is grown without any chemicals and the farmers use natural fertilizers like manure in order to make their crops healthy. Again, not only does this benefit the crops but also prevents the soil and water from becoming contaminated with chemicals from fertilizers and pesticides.

The farmers may also incorporate the use of natural pesticides, like using insects or birds to help control the pest problem in the crops. The use of hand tilling or manually pulling weeds is also used as opposed to chemical weed control. Ranchers only use natural organic foods for their livestock and the livestock is allowed to graze in a more natural environment instead of being penned up.

Organic health food is labeled as such by the FDA and needs to meet the strict criteria of the Food and Drug Administration in order to be considered organic. This helps consumers feel safe knowing that the foods that are marked as organic truly are what they are advertised.

Organic health food may be the wave of the future as more and more farmers are meeting the consumers demand for these products.
