Solar Power Generator Produces Electricity With Renewable Sources
Solar power is being used for more than operating a few lights or small calculators and watches and the innovation of a solar power generator is showing promise of providing power to a large area for a lot less money. Additionally, since it uses power provided by the sun there is no air pollution from the use of fossil fuels and it is renewable, decreasing the depletion of non-renewable resources.
Typically, a generator is operated by a turbine to turn it to produce electricity. Hydropower requires water to turn the generator such as those used in Niagara Falls to produce electricity. However, not every area of the country as a water supply to provide this type of power and the use of coal and gas to operate the generators is polluting and dependent on non-renewable resources. A solar power generator uses the heat from the sun to heat water, which then turns the turbines.
Water can be contained in a large bladder with pipes running to the turbines and when the water is heated it moves through the pipes, turning the turbines on a solar power generator. This produces electricity, which is transmitted through the power grip. Some of these stations use multiple focused parabolic dishes to gather enough sunlight to heat the water use in electricity production.
Heating Water May Require Hybrid System
In some areas where the sunlight is limited, a solar power generator may also require a backup system to heat the water such as coal or oil. The theory of perpetual motion does not apply to a solar power generator, meaning that if power is siphoned off to charge batteries for nighttime operation, the battery power will be insufficient to heat the water to create more electricity.
Geothermal is currently being used in some areas where underground heat is captured and used to turn water into steam to turn power-generating turbines. These systems can also be made part of a solar power generator to provide a consistent source of heat for the power plants. In areas closer to the equator where the sun shines more consistently, electricity provided by a solar power generator can be added to the grid and used in areas without as much sunlight.
Many different systems are being used to generate electricity. In addition to the solar power generator, wind and water are also in use in many parts of the world to help save resources, reduce pollution and still maintain a steady supply of electricity.
