Excessive Sweating Is Something That Affects Obese And Overweight Persons The Most

A simple yet unquestionable fact related to why an individual suffers from excessive sweating is because they are either overweight or even obese. In fact, these two conditions alone account for the greatest number of instances of such form of sweating than any other single reason. Nevertheless, excessive sweating can also occur because of certain conditions (medical) including psychiatric illness, menopause or even thyroid glands that have become overactive.

Distressing Condition

As a matter of fact, excessive sweating can also affect a person that does not suffer from medical related conditions, and in addition, even the reason why such people suffer from this unwanted condition has not as yet been found out. However, regardless of the reason behind suffering from excessive sweating, there no doubts the fact that the condition itself is very distressing and it can even make a person think poorly of them and so they suffer from a lack of proper self esteem.

One of the other offshoots of excessive sweating is that the condition can result in giving off very obnoxious smells and a person's appearance too will deteriorate and make them look unkempt as well as dirty. In fact, the problem of excessive sweating is not as bad in the case of overweight persons as in the case of an obese person, because while it is easy to shed a few extra pounds of weight, it is rather more difficult to shed a mass of unwanted fat.

To be sure, sometimes excessive sweating can affect only certain areas of the body including the palms, soles of one's feet and even the underarm region and if that is the case, then you will need to take treatment to bring the sweating under control. It may even mean having to apply anti-perspirants which can have a temporary effect in stopping excessive sweating.

In other instances, you may need to undergo simple medical treatment (non-surgical) which can reduce and even totally eliminate the problem of excessive sweating, and one such treatment is known as Iontophoresis in which electric current of low intensity is passed over the parts that sweat excessively. Another treatment option is to take Botulinum toxin injected into the body and this treatment is also referred to as Botox injections.

When an individual suffers from excessive sweating and since the condition affects overweight persons the most, it is often necessary to get them medically checked up to also determine whether they are also not in fact obese. In case, it is found that the individual is obese, then there is needed to take a healthy diet along with getting plenty of exercises which should help reduce the unwanted weight and so, stop the excessive sweating once and for all.
