Tattoo Prices: Worth Every Penny
Many pleasures in life cost money, and tattoos especially carry with them hefty prices. For a lot of people, tattoo prices are the biggest deterrent to getting them. Many people are not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a piece of body art. Of course, there are some people on the other hand who set aside a little bit from every paycheck for a new tattoo.
In the tattoo world, there is a big difference between those who are obsessed with tattoos and those who plan on only one in their lifetime. For the latter group, deciding to go through with it and get a tattoo, even when it may cost a lot, is a big decision. But while price may scare them away, in many instances, it should attract them, because more often than not, tattoo prices directly reflect the quality and the safety of any particular tattoo, artist or parlor.
More Is Better
Tattoo prices are dependent on many factors. For instance, size is a big component of the price. Large tattoos will naturally cost more, especially when they involve colors and shading. Also, if the tattoo is custom-designed, the artist has to be paid for the time spent sketching and for the time spent tattooing. Tattoos picked from flash art, or pre-designed tattoos, can usually be completed in one session and are often very fast.
Also, large tattoos will often require multiple sessions, and these add up as well. Some tattoos can cost the equivalent of multiple smaller or simpler tattoos. However, in the end, higher tattoo prices may be more worth it, especially if the finished result is more pleasing than smaller, more common tattoos. Since tattoos are personal, custom work is always more appreciated.
Also, tattoo prices differ between various artists and parlors. While a lot of people are attracted to cheap, quick tattoo places, these are not always better. For instance, tattooing uses needles, and if the parlor or artist is not clean or does not use proper care, a lot of illnesses can occur. Some artists are known around the world, and naturally they are going to charge more for their services.
But once again, since the quality of these jobs will ultimately be better, the steeper tattoo prices are worth it, especially if the finished product is a piece of art that can be shown and bragged about. In the end, a tattoo that is rushed or is unsafe can cost a lot more money down the road, especially if infection sets in or if it needs to be covered up or removed.
