Choosing Your Wedding Flower Decorations

Choosing Your Wedding Flower Decorations

Everyone knows that the bride's bouquet is one of the most important parts of any wedding - and all the ladies will certainly do their best to catch it for good luck after the event itself.

But the wedding flower table decorations are equally as important, and with a little forward planning and thought, they can be chosen to fit in with the bride's choice of bouquet. There's nothing better than walking into the venue for the celebration after the wedding vows have been taken and seeing that the best elements of the bride's bouquet have been incorporated into the wedding flower table decorations themselves.

What Themes Can You Choose?

There are probably as many themes as there are weddings that take place every year, but many people prefer simple and elegant for their weddings. It's easy to forget that the wedding flower decorations have to be co-ordinated with the table linen, so thought should always be given to what you will choose for this aspect of the reception as well.

An easy place to start from is to ask yourself what your favorite blooms are. This will give you some ideas of colors and so on that you can bear in mind when you are making these all important decisions.

One important aspect of wedding flower decorations that many people overlook is to consider what will be in bloom at the time of your wedding. This can affect what you use, so make sure you have more than one idea in hand, just in case the florist you choose advises you that your first choice won't be possible for fresh flowers.

Some women decide to have a bouquet that brings back memories of their own mother's wedding, and again this theme can be carried through to the wedding flower table decorations as well.

Don't Go Over the Top

It can be easy to go too far and have too much on the tables at your wedding, but quite often simple designs and lots of smaller wedding flower decorations can be better than larger displays. Perhaps you could go for smaller versions of the wedding flower bouquet itself, and space them out along the length of each table. For round tables you can form a small circle in the center. In this way you could even provide each woman at your wedding with a mini bouquet to take home with her.

Continuing the choices you have made for your wedding flower bouquet right through to your reception makes a thoughtful addition to any wedding, and one that is sure to be remembered.
