Wrinkle Injections - Do They Work?
If you have unwanted wrinkles that you would like to remove, there are a variety of procedures and products to use on your facial wrinkles. Some people have been very satisfied with using wrinkle injections to remove or reduce their facial wrinkles. Wrinkles are basically cause by the reduction of important components such as collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin in the lower portion of your skin known as the dermis.
There are products available known as derma fillers that are injected into the dermis portion of the skin, that will on a temporary basis reduce the appearance of your wrinkles and scars. Over the years, derma fillers have seen a reduction in price and are now more affordable and they give a little more realistic look to your skin than in the past. There are several wrinkle injection substances available to reduce your undesirable wrinkles.
Hylaform
It is a hyaluronic acid filler and it is quite useful as a wrinkle injection material for the lips and the cheeks due to its softness. The reduction in wrinkles due to this product typically last about three months. Unfortunately the hyaluronic acid fillers are known to produce more bruising and redness in patients than collagen injections.
Restylane
It is the most widely used of the hyaluronic acid fillers. It is very effective in reducing deep wrinkles due to its stiffness. It has been shown to keep the wrinkle reductions it produced for about six months. This amount of time is longer than the majority of derma fillers can offer. Be sure you find a doctor who has a vast amount of experience using this product; otherwise this wrinkle injection material can cause your skin to have a bumpy look to it.
Cosmo Plast and Cosmo Derm
These products are basically produced from what is known as bio-engineered human collagen. These fillers will cause less redness, bruising and pain than the hyaluronic fillers and their improvements to your wrinkles last approximately four years. Collagen treatments are the most expensive derma fillers on the market. One of the early versions of collagen was bovine based and is still available for use.
Juvederm
This derma filler product was recently placed on the market after receiving approval from the FDA in 2006. It contains a high level of hyaluronic acid which makes it quite effective for deep facial folds that can be found on the sides of a person's mouth. The improvements from the injections can last from six months up to a year. Like the other hyaluronic acid fillers, people who take Juvederm for wrinkle injections usually have to deal with redness and bruising on their skin. You should talk to your dermatologist or physician in order to decide which wrinkle injection material is appropriate for you.
