There are many online games that involve gambling with real money
My husband is now addicted to the online game - Pirates of the Caribbean. At first, I wasn't too thrilled with him playing online games. I've heard horror stories about people who become so addicted to online games that their entire lives will be catered to revolving around playing them.
I decided to feign interest in this game just so that I could see exactly what was going on. In all honesty, it was a pretty cool game to watch and I didn't see any issues with it becoming his new addiction. There wasn't much violence and it didn't involve playing with real money. So, I don't mind his new source of entertainment. It'll wear off in a few weeks.
There are many online games that involve gambling with real money. While I'm quite sure that you could earn lots of money if you play the right games at the right time, I'm also just as sure that you could lose just as much money. Quite a few credit card companies have found themselves billing customers for cash advances and memberships to online games and casinos. It is easy to lose track of time when you're sitting in the confines of your own home. It is even easier to lose track of the money that you're spending when gambling in the online casinos. Everyone thinks, "just one more time" and that thought encourages people to just keep going. For most people, online games just create more of a headache than anything healthy.
However, there are some online games that don't involve real money or violence. Webkinz, the new phase for children, involves stuffed animals and online games. My five year old daughter can safely play online and interact with other children without my constant supervision. They can only have limited communication with others but still play online games that require having an opponent. Besides Webkinz, there are other online games for children or adults. Some online games let you to actually chat or talk to other game players. If an online game has that feature, parents should be monitoring their children's time that is spent on the computer. While there are a lot of safety issues involved with playing online games, there are some great features as well. You might find yourself playing and interacting with someone in a different country. Suddenly, there are no boundaries. Oceans can't keep game players apart. Some games may have educational features as well. As long as online games are played cautiously and
maturely, the adventures can be endless.
