Xbox 360 vs PS3 Shootout
The two most powerful console gaming systems on the market are the Xbox 360 and the PS3. This article is going to compare the Xbox 360 vs PS3. While both systems have their plusses and minuses the only way to really make a decision on which is better is to put them head to head and look at the Xbox 360 vs PS3.
Xbox 360 vs PS3 - Which to Buy?
The first thing you want when getting a game system is game support. Currently both systems offer and extensive range of titles, however in the Xbox 360 vs PS3 battle the PS3 wins this first fight. There are simply more titles available and from a larger range of producers for the PS3.
However, one thing to not on the topic of available games, is that there is an extensive list of very popular games that are exclusively available for the Xbox 360. One of which has been voted the game of the year several times and continues to dominate the first person shooter gaming world - Halo 3. Unavailable on any other system, this title alone is almost reason enough to buy an Xbox 360.
Next up is reliability of the unit. The PS3 is built by Sony Corporation, known for many years for building solid and reliable electronic equipment. The Xbox 360 has been plagued since its launch by technical issues, although most of those appear to have been resolved at this point. For all the quality that Sony has had over the years, the PS3 is not one of their most reliable products. While not as faulty as the Xbox 360, it still has had its share of problems. This one goes to the PS3, but only by a slight margin.
Online game play is probably one of the hottest and most important things in console gaming today. Both systems offer online play, but the Xbox 360 is the clear winner here. Microsoft has had Xbox Live available for many years now and their system is feature rich and extremely reliable. The PS3 version of this is still in its infancy and has many bugs and not nearly the strong feature set of Xbox Live.
So when looking at Xbox 360 vs PS3 a couple things become apparent. The most important is that it is not necessarily the game console that will ultimately affect your decision on which to purchase, but rather which features you are looking for. If you want a system to play against friends and foes online, are a huge Halo 3 fan, than the Xbox is your obvious choice, If you want a console to play mostly by yourself with the strongest selection of titles, than the PS3 is your choice. Whichever it happens to be, just make sure that you are getting what you want before you buy.
