Breakouts of acne are often associated with teens going through puberty and while they may seem to be the biggest target, acne is not that picky about whose face or skin it attacks. There are other topical antibiotics on the market available without a prescription that can help solve an allergy problem to benzoyl peroxide. The main advantage to topical medications is the reduced possibility of adverse reactions including upset stomach.
