Natural bodybuilding is when you maximize the potential of your body without the use of enhancing substances or steroids.
Although there are factors which influence your body’s potential to gain muscle, such as genes, diet and body type, largely it is in your hands to obtain a wonderful natural bodybuilders physique. Anyone can do it, but not everyone has the determination and willpower that you do, hence why so few of us ever reach our potential.
Tip 1 - Train regularly
Regular training is of course the cornerstone of every bodybuilders plan. I like to train 4 times per week, but your routine will differ depending on goals and time available. Overtraining is a big no no for natural bodybuilders though so keep that in mind when you are hitting the gym for the seventh day in a row.
Tip 2 - Vary your routine
Routine variation is the way to achieve gains when you hit a plateau. Generally this first occurs 6 or so months after commencing training and then regularly afterwards. You will see the most gains in your first 6 months to 1 year of workouts, after that it will stagnate. This is when you MUST mix up your workout routine. You can do this by varying types of exercise, weight used, number of sets and reps and even your dietary intake.
Tip 3 - Get your sleep
Sleep is a vital factor for natural bodybuilders. Without enough (at least 7, 9 preferred) hours sleep per night, your body simply wont receive properly and muscle gains will not be at their maximum. You'll also need sleep to recoup all that lost energy so that your workouts can become more intense. You can’t lift your best when you're tired, it’s that simple.
