Bonsai trees are very beautiful works of art that have been around for centuries. They originally started from China and spread throughout the world. Along with the beautiful bonsai trees are the lovely pots which are sometimes specifically designed as bonsai pots. Choosing bonsai pots can be instrumental in making the bonsai look good or bad. Sometimes, the presentation of the bonsai has a lot to say about the plant itself; therefore choosing the right pot is essential for display.
Most bonsai pots are not very big and not very deep. The reasons for these facts are because bonsai plants are supposed to be small and the size of the pots have a lot to say in controlling the growth of the tree. Designs Of Bonsai Pots
Most containers for bonsai trees are not so deep and large. In spite of these limitations, designs can still be seen in some pots. Most have Chinese or Asiatic designs that may complement the tree in it. Some bonsai pots designs are made for specific tree styles. Forest bonsai style will need a shallow but wide enough pot to house around three to seven trees. Other bonsai styles like a cascade or a lean will need a pot that can be deep enough to hold up the pressure of the tree going down or going to one side.
In actuality, the choice of bonsai pots for bonsai trees lies with the gardener. The preferences of the owner of the pot and the tree will prevail and no matter how off kilter the choice may seem to others, there is nothing they can do about it.
