The Basics of The Technology We love: The Mobile Phone

Just as every household seems to have a few televisions and almost every household has at least one computer if not more, more and more people are taking advantage of the mobile phone technology and the people who are using it just seem to get younger and younger. The mobile phone is no longer a mystery and something that only those with a lot of money can have. The prices of the mobile phone have come down considerably in the past several years and it is no longer technology that people are afraid of. Using a mobile phone has become second nature to most people.

The people who are taking advantage of the mobile phone range in ages from ten years old to one hundred years old and they seem to keep getting younger and younger. There are a lot of types of mobile phone that are even directly marketed to the younger children and designed so that they can call for help or to their family. These phones are made so that they can not call a lot of different numbers like the regular mobile phone and are made so that children as young as six can figure out how to call home.

The Future

When we think about how the mobile phone first looked when they first came out, a lot of people will laugh, as they were just as big as your cordless home phone, and sometimes even a little bigger. But through the years these phones have transformed into smaller, sleeker, lighter, and more fashionable devices that are so small, they can fit into even the smallest of pockets. It makes you wonder about how much smaller they will get because they already seem small enough. How much smaller can they get?

The mobile phone has made so many changes throughout the years it is really hard to tell exactly how many more are yet to come. Trying to imagine what is in the future for the mobile phone ten or twenty years from now may be too much for us right now. And who knows, maybe in ten years we will be laughing about how huge the cell phones of today are. As technology grows, so does are perception of what is acceptable and what is normal so what may seem like something far out of reach now, will be the normal tomorrow and we will be amazed at what we used to use.
