Cleaning Lady
One of the better ways in which you can get your house cleaned up in a jiffy is to use the services of a professional cleaning lady. You don’t necessarily need to have a full fledged cleaning service at your fingertips, because if all you have that needs cleaning is a two bedroom apartment a cleaning service might be overkill!
A solitary cleaning lady, on the other hand is probably somewhat more suited for the task and if you know her, or she has been recommended to you by a friend then so much the better.
If on the other hand, you don’t know a cleaning lady to save your life, and your friends all live bohemian lifestyles with not a cleaning lady in sight, then you can do one of a few things.
You could look in the yellow pages for a good cleaning lady, or even a cleaning service which might be able to point you in the right direction to finding a cleaning lady.
You could take out a “wanted” ad in the classifieds looking for a cleaning lady, or you could use a maid service, or cleaning agency to send out a cleaning lady whenever you need her.
There are of course, many pitfalls associated with all of these. The first and main one being for all of these that you won’t know your new cleaning lady from Eve. She could be just the heaven sent person you were looking for, or she could be the last person on earth that you ever want to see.
You won’t know whether she’s trustworthy, and especially with the classified ad, you might get a candidate just walking in off the street. Obviously you will want references, but who knows how genuine those are, especially the written endorsements by satisfied customers.
The best thing that you could therefore do in a case like this is to either go “eenie meenie miny moe” and pick out a cleaning lady from the yellow pages then go through the entire list until you find one who seems suitable, or you could try your hand at a cleaning agency.
You should ideally go with a reputed agency that deals in household cleaning solutions, maids etc. And if you do go down this route, you at least have the knowledge that the credentials that your new cleaning lady comes with are genuine, and that she really is who she claims to be: your new cleaning lady.
