Home school preschool doesn't have to be expensive. In fact it is probably the cheapest stage of home schooling as you can improvise and make lots of the materials on your own. The mixed up buttons game is a great game to play. It needs a little effort on your part but is still very easy to put together. Use construction paper, old wallpaper or wallpaper samples for this. Try and stick to single colors or very simple patterns. No complicated patterns to distract the little ones.

Get some cheap buttons and stick them onto shirts that you have cut out from the paper. Have four or five buttons, with one button that is different from the majority whether in color, size or shape. It might even have less holes than the rest. Get your little one to find the button that is different from the rest by circling it. This seemingly simple exercise can help teach spatial awareness, fine motor development and help with visual discrimination.

A very easy counting game that you can use when you home school preschool children is to place plastic vases or containers and stick a label with a number on each container. Get plastic flowers, stick to single blossom type ones, and get your child to place the correct number of flowers in each container.

Another fun home school preschool idea is to play the pizza order game. Wrap paper plates in felt that is 'cheesy' in color. Cut out pizza toppings such as pepperoni, mushrooms and anchovies out of different colored felts. Keep the toppings down to three or four types. Now order a pizza with a specific number of each topping and have your little one whip it up. They will have fun playing this game and not even notice that they are learning how to count.
