A honeymoon can mean a lot of different things to couples. For one couple, the idea of a perfect honeymoon is simply getting home and staying shacked up inside for a few days without ever having to leave. For another couple a cruise around the world might be more fitting!
Planning a honeymoon getaway sounds easy enough but when it comes to thinking up ideas that aren't already obvious like Hawaii, Rome, Bermuda or any other exotic location, it can be a bit troublesome. Whether it's lack of time due to a quickly planned wedding or because the knowledge or intimate places to go is not there, a few destination ideas should help you to plan a perfect honeymoon getaway.
Go to The Beach!
If you live near the coast no matter where that coast may be (Eastern United States, Western United States, somewhere in Australia…) the going to the beach is a perfect honeymoon getaway that won't cost you an arm and a leg because you can save on airfare and car rentals. Whether renting a cottage or honeymoon suite at the beach means driving right down the street or taking a 3 hour trip, it is certainly worth it.
You don't have to be far away from home to feel like it, and while at the beach you can pretend to be anywhere you want to be in the world. Saving the extra money on airfare and car rentals will also allow you the opportunity to put a little more into the honeymoon getaway. You could rent a limo for the night and go out to a fancy dinner, or hire a tour guide to take you around the beach city you're staying at.
Charter a Boat!
If you're looking to go somewhere different on your honeymoon getaway, this is it. You can charter a boat for a number of days and stay on the boat the whole time, or you can stay near where the boat docks and charter the boat for ½ or a whole day.
You can charter boats that come complete with food and maid service, and have hot tubs or even swimming pools (although probably small unless you want to wine, dine and boat like a millionaire) on board.
Be a Kid Again!
Plan a honeymoon getaway that makes you both feel like kids again! It's a great way to start your new relationship and build new bonds you might never let happen otherwise. Some places to consider for this kind of honeymoon getaway are Disneyland, Universal Studios, Yosemite National Park and Sea World.
You can also set your honeymoon getaway in Los Angeles, California where you can go to a couple of shows like the price is right or Jay leno, and hit up Disneyland along with Universal Studios while still making time to visit popular attraction areas like China town, Hollywood and many others.
