Prostate Impotence

One of the primary reasons for impotence in men can be found in the condition of the prostate gland of the male reproductive system. This gland, tucked under the bladder, is responsible for the manufacture of seminal fluid. An early sign of potential problems before even impotence sets in is a decreased ability to create urine.

The development of cancerous cells and tumors in this gland, while not initially causing any noticeable performance drop, can over time decrease the ability to perform and can ultimately increase or spread into other parts of the body fatally. As well as being the most significant reason for erectile dysfunction, prostate cancer is the second largest cause of cancer fatalities in the United States among men.

While research shows some genetic links to prostate problems the most effective treatment against prostate impotence is preventative. As well as a healthy diet that includes fatty 3 omega acids, selenium, vitamins A, D, E and beta-carotene, the capsaicin found in hot peppers also has a reversing effect on cancerous cells. The avoidance of animal fat also prevents buildup of cancer causing conditions. Hydrogenated vegetable oils should be minimized as well as this greatly increases the incidence of prostate cancer and its resultant impotence and death.

While there are social stigma often imposed by religious concerns, the "use it or lose it" cliche has relevance in this matter. Those who maintain a regular pattern of ejaculation, whether through sex or masturbation have been shown to decrease their chances of prostate cancer or impotence by as much as 40%.

hose who are diagnosed with prostate problems as the root of their impotence, there are a number of drugs and medicines available that can treat this problem in a greater or lesser fashion before one has to contemplate radiation or surgical procedures to attempt repair of the damage that has left them impotent.
