Why You Should Join an RV Forum
People that own RV's consider themselves to be part of what they call the RV Community. The RV Community is anyone that has an RV and then enjoys the freedom that an RV offers along with all of the wide open spaces that America has to offer.
Like any other group there are casual RV users that you will see using their RV's in the parking lot of football games and then there are the RV fanatics that would never leave their RV if it had cable television. Of course the advent of satellite television is probably not helping to get the fanatics out of their RV's but one thing that every community enjoys, including the RV Community, is communication and the feeling that they are in touch with other people that share their interests. That is what an RV forum is for.
Advice Forums
RV forums is usually something you would find on the internet, although later we will get to the different RV forums that started before the internet was popular and still survive today. These forums are usually in the form of a message board. On any good RV forum you can get advice on how to better take care of your RV and also find out different tips on repair and maintenance that you may never have thought of and could save you a lot of money in the process. You can also get great advice on storage of your RV on an RV forum and you can also find out precautions you can take when you are parking at campgrounds and RV parks. But there is so much more to an RV forum.
Long Before the Internet
There has been some form of RV forum for many years and some of them survive without the internet by using the cork boards and other communications tools at the various RV parks. Next time you are at an RV park check out their cork board and see the different messages people leave and how those particular RV forum people stay in touch. It is pretty interesting. But most people on an RV forum prefer the internet and one of the beautiful things about the internet is getting your information in real time just when you need it.
You can use the RV forum to try and get help if you are stranded somewhere or if you appear to be lost in a town you have never been to. You can also check and see if anyone has posted any warnings about avoiding a particular campground you are headed to. It is this kind of real time assistance that makes an RV forum important on the road.
