Many Designer Rugs Incorporate Artistic Designs

One of the many uses of area rugs is to help protect floors as well as provide color and design to a room's décor. As many residents choose their home's decorations based on individual choice, the decisions to incorporate designer rugs into their décor may come easy for them. Many of the colorful and unique paintings of contemporary artists for example, have been licensed and distributed as replicas in the form of designer rugs. Other designs may have been inspired by architects or celebrities, and once they approve having their name attached to the decorative piece, it becomes more valuable.

In some cases, designer rugs are chosen strictly on the name of the artists whose work inspired the design. Others are chosen for their contrast or how they fit into a specific home's decoration pattern. Rarely will designer rugs de duplicated in more than one room with decorators choosing different designs by the same artist to change the ambience in individual rooms.

Many designer rugs are used to create an atmosphere within a room and quiet, warm shades of colors with subtle designs can be used to create a softer environment. In other rooms, the rugs may be brightly colored or have a spirited designed to create the feeling of excitement in the surroundings.

Choosing Designs Is Always Personal Preference

Some homeowners will shy away from designer rugs as they are typically more expensive that rugs from unknown designers. Many choose a rug based solely on how the colors will fit into their design motif. Simply having a famous person's name attached to carpet will not be enough of a selling point to bring the rug into their home. It may come as a surprise sometimes when a rug they truly appreciate was designed by a contemporary painter or even an actor, and they pick it up getting the best of both worlds.

When buying designer rugs from internet sites or online auctions, care should be exercised to insure the buyer is acquiring an original design and some sort of knock off put together in a foreign factory. With many, it is difficult to tell the difference and if the price is not enough of a red flag about its authenticity, buying from a reputable dealer of designer rugs can insure getting what they want.

In most households, designer rugs are not even considered as long as young children remain in the house as paying for a carpet does not make it childproof. Many parents will wait until their children are old enough to appreciate what they have before spending more on designer rugs.
