Wireless Night Security Camera Has Excellent Night Vision

To help protect properties against loss and people from injury, many companies are turning to video surveillance systems to have a record of any incidents. Many of the components used today include a wireless night security camera capable of recording an image in total darkness through infrared technology. While capable of recording full color images during daylight hours, when lighting is no longer available, the wireless night security camera usually switches to a black and white mode, automatically, able to capture images up to about 90 feet away.

There are numerous applications with such a device that go beyond having a video record of goings on at a property. They can be used to "see" into dark places before a person enters or to locate missing people or pets in the dark. The biggest advantage of the wireless night security camera, other than being able to see at night, is the ease of installation that requires no tools or special equipment.

They are also used during surveillance operations by law enforcement and private investigators using portable digital video recorders to capture images from remote locations. Working from their vehicle a video can be obtained from a distance to be used as evidence without the person using the wireless night security camera being subject to being seen.

Cameras Can Work During Power Outages

A wireless night security camera can remain functional in the event of a power outage as they are power by battery. However, the device on which the images are recorded will also need to be battery powered or else the images cannot be saved. They can still be useful in dark buildings in being able to monitor the image on battery powered video monitors. They can also be used during construction projects before exterior lighting is installed to deter the theft of construction equipment.

Typical wireless night security camera lenses are 4.5 mm, which provides a fairly wide viewing area, and longer lenses tend to lose some of their image quality with any ambient lighting available. Since the usual maximum range in the dark is about 90-feet, a wider lens will not supply any additional benefit.

Keeping watch on remote areas of the property with no lighting and no means of extending wires is made easier, if not just possible, with the use of a wireless night security camera. They can transmit a signal back to the recording device or monitor which can be reviewed in the event of an incident.
