It is technically prohibited to bring personal chewing gum into Singapore so although you may not get caught or in a lot of trouble, its best to leave the gum at home. This ban was brought about due to the vandalism problem with chewing gum. It was introduced in 1983.
Singapore is a very low crime country. It is a safe place at night which will come as a relief to travelers.
