Cheap Spain Travel Packages - Bad Idea

You just signed up for your dream vacation, one of the cheapest cheap Spain travel packages you could find. You get to your hotel room and find a rat infested dive in the worst part of Madrid, not your ideal situation and certainly not what you thought you were getting when you first started looking at cheap Spain travel packages.

Unfortunately this story is all too common. People look to find the best deal, find the best cheap Spain travel packages they can, and in the end pay more than some of the fancier packages out there for half the fun. This is not to say that some cheap Spain travel packages are not great values, but rather that you have to be careful what you find online.

Make sure that if you are going to look into cheap Spain travel packages that they have hotels and meal accommodations at the best places you have heard of, at the very least places you can find extensive information on.

Do Your Homework

Before you hand over your hard earned cash, research every aspect of your Spanish vacation. Anything that you are paying for should be documented, and therefore you should be able to find out information on the company.

Now I'm not saying that you have to go and do background research on every restaurant that you are going to eat at, but if you cannot find any positive reviews on the hotel you are staying at, or if it is located in a neighborhood that has nothing touristy or any solid information, than I would start to be a bit wary.

There are many out of the way, hole in the wall, places to visit throughout Spain, but I would plan on finding those on your own rather than going with the recommendation of your travel agent.

If you are going to be adventurous you are going to want to have a look at where you are going first and I would never buy sight unseen. Take your time to do it right now and you will definitely have a much better time.

Spain has many different and wonderful things to enjoy, some of which are expensive and some of which are not, it is up to you to take the time to find the things you want to do that will cost money and not throw your money away on a cheap hotel and terrible food.
