Some Famous Psychics

Are there psychics among us? Do they really exist? Do they really have paranormal or supernatural powers that they claim they have?

The word "psychic" comes from the Greek term psychikos meaning "of the soul, mental." The word refers to a person who has the ability to perceive things that are not sensed by normal physical senses. Parapsychologists, occultists, and even skeptics of psychic powers believe that this power stems from extra-sensory perception or ESP. Through ESP, psychics can sense or use psychic forces.

Throughout history, there were people who were thought to be psychic.

Among the most popular psychics was Daniel Dunglas Home. He was a Scottish spiritualist who was reported to have the ability to levitate, elongate his body, and handle fire and hot coals without injury.

He was also thought to be a psychic medium. In fact, the famous Sir Arthur Conan Doyle even said that Home has the ability to let the spirits speak audibly, the ability to let spirits speak through him, clairvoyance, and telekinesis.

Many scientists doubt the existence of his abilities because they haven't had any proof; hearsays gave public recognition to his so-called abilities. Citing the same reason, no one can deny the existence of his psychic powers.

Another person in the alleged circle of psychics is Uri Geller, an Israeli-British celebrity. He became popular after demonstrating his powers via a series of televised performances.

In these shows, he allegedly bent spoons without touching them, describe hidden drawings, and making watches appear to stop or run faster. While Geller stated that his abilities were coursed through his willpower and strength of mind, many people were skeptical about him. They said that these tricks can be done using stage magic tricks.

Other well-known psychics include the late Nina Kulagina, a Russian female who allegedly had great psychic powers, especially in psychokinesis. She can move objects without touching them. The strangest thing was that this was done under controlled conditions, which means she was observed by psychic researchers.

Ms. Kulagina said that before she demonstrates her power, she often went through a period of meditation to clear her mind. When she was very focused and ready to use her so-called abilities, a sharp pain stabbed her spine and her eyesight blurred.
There are other people who are allegedly psychics, displaying abilities to move objects through willpower or foretelling future events. People like Chizuko Mifune, Ted Owens, Tina Resch, Ted Serios, and Paul Twitchel.

Could you be one of them?
