There are many museums in the Washington DC area, and most of these museums are very well-known. One of these museums is the National Building Museum. This museum deals with the architecture and its many innovations.

Another interesting item is the Korean War Memorial. This memorial was in commemoration of those who lost their lives and fought in the Korean War. Of course, Washington DC is also home to the United States Capitol. The Capitol is considered to be one of the most architecturally beautiful buildings in the world; tours are also available inside the capitol. The White House is also one of the most popular attractions in all of Washington DC's tourism industry. This is the house where the President of the United States and his family lives, and there are many tours that offer a look inside the home of the president.

The monument that stands as a symbol for George Washington and his hard work for America is known as the Washington Monument. This monument is 5555/8 ft. tall and is visible from up to 40 miles away in clear weather. Another extremely popular attraction in Washington DC's tourism industry is the Smithsonian. This incredibly large museum is a great collection of a variety of items. This museum is a must-see for any Washington DC tourist.

Activities Younger Children

Washington DC also offers attractions for smaller, younger children. The National Zoo is a great place to take young kids where they can enjoy themselves. The National Zoo is part of the Smithsonian and houses 2,000 individual animals and nearly 400 different species of animals. The National Zoo is best known for the endangered giant pandas, they are Tian Tian, Mei Xiang, and their cub, Tai Shan.

Another great activity for families with younger children is the National Aquarium. This National Aquarium has over 50 different tanks, 1000 different specimens, and nearly 200 different species. There are even two alligators at the aquarium known as Crunch and Munch. Washington DC's tourism offers more than just these attractions for young children these are just some of the most popular ones.
