Different Types of Aerobic Training

Running and Walking

Stepping can provide you with all of the cardiovascular benefits of running, as well as added strength training for your legs and buttocks. The main difference between this and running is that stepping is a low impact program. You don't have the constant pounding and stress on your joints that you have with running.

Swimming

Swimming is one of the best types of aerobic training for a total body workout. The nice thing about swimming is the weightlessness that the body experiences virtually eliminates any undue stress on bones and joints. Swimming is an ideal way to get a cardiovascular workout, as well as muscle toning and strengthening.

You can turn almost anything into an aerobic training program. The key is to get the heart rate up, and sustain it there for a certain period of time. This is the best type of exercise for overall health and wellness.
