Cool things to do with iPod for Windows

We know that Apple designed the iPod media player for Macintosh format only despite the fact that the company doesn't own majority of the world's operating systems. It is for this reason that Apple began manufacturing iPod for Windows OS to allow MS Windows users to do the same or similar tricks, at the least, with iPod with Macintosh formats.

This availability has limitations, however, because some of iPod's features are not compatible with certain Windows programs, including the Windows Media Player. What consumers find challenging is the synchronization of audio files in the iPod for Windows with the Windows Media Player. Unfortunately, syncing iPod audio files with your PC is only possible using Apple's iTunes software as well as the iTunes Music Store.

Despite these limitations, there are several fun tricks you can do with your iPod for Windows (aside from playing music) that quite measure up with iPod with Macintosh formats.

Tricks to do with your iPod for Windows
Changing or adding album art. Most of the tracks you purchase from the iPod Music Store come with their cover art, which also happens when you rip a song from a source (a CD). There are times, though, when the iTunes software cannot pick up the right cover. The easiest remedy for this problem is to go to View and to Show Artwork, then select the right cover.

Finding and deleting duplicate tracks. Most duplicate tracks were downloaded inadvertently, which is not a problem with large disks but can eat up a huge amount of storage space in your iPod for Windows. You can delete the duplicate tracks manually or allow the iTunes software to do it for you. Just make sure you delete the duplicate and not another track.

Create your own playlists. This might seem irrelevant to new users but there are many advantages to creating your own smart playlists. By creating your own playlists, you can group your favorite songs into one album. Simply select File and New Playlist then create a new playlist which you can pick a title for.

Give presentations. There's more to iPod for Windows that play music or do other tricks. The iPod can be used to give presentations whenever, wherever. All you need to do is load presentation files into your iPod and connect it to a projector. The iPod is able to display files in the JPG format.

Of course, there is a whole lot more tricks you can do with your iPod for Windows so don't let the limitations break your drive down. Explore your iPod and see the difference.
